Purple Cake Day

At Nelson Central School we are gearing up for Purple Cake Day. We have been busy making cup cakes and flags for the annual event on March 1st. This day is organised to celebrate and empower children to help other children in their world. In 2011 the money raised is going towards Haiti to assist in building a school and towards the Christchurch earthquake appeal.

Purple Cake Day has been instigated by Emily Sanson-Rejouis who lost two daughters, Kofie-Jade (5) and Zenzie (3), and her husband Emmanuel, in the Haiti earthquake in January 2010. To find out more about purple cake day go to http://www.purplecakeday.org/get-involved/. You might even see some photos of NCS families on there!
