Farewell Dr Potaka

This week we farewelled our Principal Dr Potaka who is retiring.  He has been at our school for 18.5 years.  Yesterday we had a special assembly to farewell him. At the assembly the school choir sung our school song and a the beautiful waiata Harerui.  The school choir also sung the song 'Special' by Six60 with some lyrics changed especially for Dr Potaka.

We also presented Dr Potaka with a special korawai (Traditional Maori cloak) and a bone carving carved by famous artist Brian Flintoff.
Dr Potaka presented the school with a special piece of artwork.
At the end of the assembly Dr Potaka and the rest of the school were led out by a bag piper and the Haka peformed by the senior students.
